Doom Island has struck again....
In a very bad way! They have blocked the site! I don’t know what I’m going to do! Writing and reading posts give me a little break from the day and an outlet from this place! I hope I can continue to check in on my phone (if I have reception) or at home on free time and if my laptop is working. I apologize in adv advance if you dont hear from me as often!
So this season’s bachelor is pretty good and Michelle (pictured above) is CRAZY! I’m sorry but if he ends up picking her in the end and watches the season he is going to be in for a real shocker when he finds out that she is a crazy person. I mean this girl has issues. This past weekend was:
-lots of driving!
-A wonderful few hours with my parents
-Ski from Diary King!
-great visit with an old friend and his adorable family
-lunch with my cousin
-lots of laughs with the college crew
-bears loss :(
-spending a few hours with the hubby after 3 days away
Sunday
-Drove for 5 1/2 hrs (had a few stops to make) with only 3 1/2 hours of sleep and a slight hangover to get back to Chicago in time for the Bears game
-Arrived home with enough time to shower so I could get the awful smoke smell out of my hair thanks to the 1 bar in STL that still allows smoking
-Headed to the bar to meet friends to witness a Bears loss :(
-I did win $80 in squares!

Today is my Friday!!!
Its going to be a very busy weekend for me!
-road trip to my parents tomorrow
-Birthday dinner for my dad (today) and mine (2/14)
-visit a friend from high school and his family
-STL for reunion with my college Kay Dee girls
-Hopefully not too hungover to get up super early to drive back in time for the Bears/Packers game!
-Quick stop in Springfield to see my bestie to give her a few things

After months, and I mean MONTHS of trying to find brown boots that fit my leg I finally found some on my lunch hour. These beautiful Franko Sarto boots fit great around my legs. You see the problem is I believe all shoe makers think that if you have big feet (10) then you have big legs, but I have skinny legs and boots always look ridiculous on me! I’m so happy to finally have found some!
Vacation Help!
Ok Mike and I are in desperate need of a little long weekend getaway! I would prefer to go to the beach but at a reasonable price. Any ideas of where to go that won’t break the bank?
The "recipe" for the roasted veggies I posted...

Toss chopped tomatoes and zucchini in a 9x13 pan.
Mince some onions and garlic and throw those in there too.
Sprinkle red pepper flakes, salt and pepper over the whole lot.
Toss it around with a little olive oil.
Roast in a 450 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
Sprinkle fresh herbs and Parm on top and enjoy!

Cancer...
Every time I hear the word it makes me cringe, it has my whole life. I have known people who had it and found myself watching the St. Jude fundraiser shows to raise money for all the children with cancer many many times. My grandmother had breast cancer but they found it very fast and removed it within a few days. I was at college and it was finals week so my parents didn’t even tell me...
